Additional bands revealed for the NEW ENGLAND STONER & DOOM FESTIVAL that’s set for this April 2018… we have updates about the lineup and another headliner!
The New England Stoner & Doom Festival is scheduled to take place at Altones, in Jewett City, Connecticut, bringing us all a two-day blowout of massive riffs on the stoner coded weekend of the year, April 20th and 21st, 2018.
‘Gold’ Tickets are sale NOW (a few hours early of the original January 26th date), via the NESD website here.The Gold Ticket package includes entry to 4/19 exclusive Pre-fest party at 33 Golden in New London, CT and unlimited access to both days of fest on 4/20 and 4/21 in Jewett City, CT. Gold Package also includes a NESDF event t-shirt and a NESDF compilation cd.
The main event thus far includes a roster of acts representing Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Vermont, plus Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Today brings us five more confirmed bands, with two new states to add to this… California and Illinois!
There is a slight change, as unfortunately Olde is unable to make the trek due to border complications (not the band’s fault, just extra red tape and not enough time to find the right scissors). However, it doesn’t change that Toronto representation is still on this map! Come find out…

At the beginning of November, Riff Relevant announced the NEW ENGLAND STONER & DOOM FESTIVAL was coming in April 2018… we have more news about the lineup, as well as a contest they’re having!
Salt Of The Earth Records joined forces with S.C.E.N.E. Productions (Southeastern Connecticut Entertainment Networking Events) to organize a new heavy music festival with a special focus on New England regional bands, and scheduled for the weekend of April 20th and 21st, 2018.
The New England Stoner & Doom Festival is scheduled to take place at Altones, in Jewett City, Connecticut(in Southern CT) and will bring together some of the more beloved heavy underground bands for a two-day/two-stage celebration of massive riffs on the most stoner-fied weekend of the year. The festival is also sponsored by a few folks, including us here at Riff Relevant, as well as The Obelisk, Booze Barn, and CT PRO Percussion.
They’ve also thrown in an extra day to celebrate Connecticut’s very own, with a Festival Pre-Party on Friday, April 19th. The collection of US locales represented by the roster includes: Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, plus Toronto, Ontario, Canada! Who knows what else is coming…

Now that we’re all loosened up and half-deaf from Friday, here comes the major list of heavy lifters to kick our heads in over the full festival weekend. There are still several more bands to be announced in the next few weeks, but this is the roster we have so far:

My friend Jim Forrester, affectionately known by the name Rev. Jim, was murdered by strangers while talking on the phone with his wife outside of his work at The Tattoo Museum in Baltimore City. Jim was former bassist for Sixty Watt Shaman, currently of Foghound and Serpents of Secrecy.
There is also a benefit show tonight at Cafe 611 & Guido’s Speakeasy, located on N Market St, Frederick, Maryland. This event will feature 13 bands on 2 separate stages. All proceeds go to his family.
There is a significant and growing reward for information leading to the arrest of his killers. The Church of Satan’s philosophy advocates Lex Talionis, the law of retribution. Justice will be served when his killers are punished to the full extent of the law.
